Terms of service
Last updated 19 October 2026
These terms cover your use of Handful: handfultasks.com, the web app at app.handfultasks.com, the desktop and phone apps, and the API behind them. Handful is run by [operator name] ("we"). By creating an account or using Handful, you agree to these terms and to the privacy policy.
Handful is in development
Handful is an early product. Features may change, break or be removed, and there may be downtime. We back up your data, but during development don't keep the only copy of anything important in Handful.
Your account
- You need to be at least 16 and to sign in with an email address or a supported provider such as Google.
- An account is for one person. Keep access to your email and devices secure; you are responsible for what happens in your account.
- Tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else has got into it.
Your content
Your tasks, notes, plans and workspaces are yours. You give us permission to store, process, sync and display them only as needed to run Handful for you. That permission ends when you delete them or your account, except for copies that take up to 30 days to clear from backups.
Connected tools
Connections to tools such as Jira, GitLab, GitHub and Slack are not available yet. When they are:
- Connect only accounts you are allowed to use this way. Your employer or client may have rules about third-party apps; following them is up to you.
- Handful reads with the permissions you grant and writes to a tool only when you take an explicit action in Handful.
- Those tools belong to other companies, under their own terms. We aren't responsible for their availability or for changes they make that affect Handful.
Acceptable use
Don't use Handful to break the law or anyone's rights; try to get into accounts or systems that aren't yours; probe, scan or test Handful's security without our written permission; overload the service or scrape it with automated tools; or resell access to it. We may suspend accounts that do.
Price
Handful is free while it is in development. If we introduce paid plans, we will tell you in advance, and you will only be charged if you choose a paid plan.
Ending
You can stop using Handful and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or stop offering Handful altogether. Unless the law or a security problem prevents it, we will give you notice and a chance to export your data first.
No warranty
Handful is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no promises that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose, including that every task from a connected tool will appear on time.
Limit of liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, lost data or missed deadlines. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for Handful in the 12 months before the claim, or US$50, whichever is greater. Nothing here limits liability that the law doesn't allow to be limited.
Changes
We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top, and tell you by email or in the app before a significant change takes effect. If you keep using Handful after that, the new terms apply.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction]. If you are a consumer, you keep any protections the law of your country gives you.
